Entry requirements
Applicants will normally have completed an undergraduate degree from a recongised higher education institution in engineering (any field), science, computer science or mathematics; plus three years of relevant work experience; or applicants who have completed a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Military Systems Integration) from UniSA are also eligible for entry. Applicants with qualifications in other disciplines may be accepted, and will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Aim

The aim of this program is to develop advanced knowledge and a range of skills for the development of complex military systems.

Content & Structure

Military Systems Integration (MSI) is a broad engineering discipline that integrates the fields of engineering, systems thinking, systems engineering, management, project planning. MSI is primarily concerned with the creation of complex defence systems to meet the capability needs of the Australian Defence Force. This program comprises of eight compulsory core courses and a two-part project. Each course is worth 4.5 units; the project is in two parts - the first worth 4.5 units, the second worth 13.5 units, for a total of 18 units. A total of 54 units are required to complete this program.

Rules

1. Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Military Systems Integration) may seek entry into the Masters program. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the Masters program they will be required to surrender their Graduate Diploma before they can graduate with a Masters degree.

2. Students may substitute a course in the list above for another course, subject to Program Director approval.

Notes

1. The program requires the equivalent of 1.5 full-time years of study, but will be undertaken on a part-time basis in 12 study periods for 3 years.
