Entry requirements
For entry into the Graduate Certificate in Human Factors and Safety Management Systems, applicants will normally have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology, engineering, safety or management discipline, or equivalent. Alternatively, applicants who have at least four years relevant professional experience will be eligible for entry.
This program is now open for 2012 mid-year intake.
Aim
The aim of this program is to develop basic knowledge and skills in the analysis of Human Factors issues and the development of Safety Management Systems.
Content & Structure
Human Factors is a multi-disciplinary applied science that integrates the fields of psychology, engineering, ergonomics, management and industrial design. Human Factors is primarily concerned with the interaction between humans and the socio-technical systems with which they work. The program comprises three compulsory courses and one elective course. Each course is worth 4.5 units, and a total of 18 units are required to complete the program.
