Course aim

To provide opportunities to students to develop foundational knowledge about the use of select digital technologies in business today and their disrupting impact across different industries.

Course content

This course explores a selection of key digital technologies and how they are used in business. The disruptive potential of these digital technologies is examined to identify opportunities and threats for a range of industries and business. The course offers examples from Accenture’s own research and actual use of the selected technologies, both internally and with clients. Course content includes:

  • How digital technologies are being used in different businesses
  • How they are disrupting different industries and adding value
  • Advantages, limitations, and opportunities for the use of digital technologies in business
  • Industry examples and client case studies

Technology fundamentals:

  • Blockchain fundamentals: Ledgers, Cryptographic Elements, Smart Contracts and Platforms
  • Cloud fundamentals: Deployment Models, Service Models, Capabilities
  • Artificial Intelligence fundamentals: General and Narrow AI, Neural Networks, Applied Intelligence
  • Data Science technical fundamentals: Big Data, Data Wrangling, Machine Learning
  • 5G fundamentals: Frequency; Bandwidth; Latency; Connection Density; Platooning
