Course aim

For students to describe the steps required to develop safe and effective medicines dosage design for clinical trials research.

Course content

Pharmacokinetic drug interactions; Bioavailability and bioequivalence; evaluation of the biopharmaceutical performance of dosage forms; preclinical pharmacology and toxicology; drug discovery and development; optimisation of candidate molecules; New Chemical Entities (NCE); side effects; toxicities; compound identification; lead optimisation; pharmaceutical profiling; the use of animal models to predict efficacy and safety; study validation; toxicological assessment; reproductive and developmental toxicology.
