Course aim

To critically examine research methodologies and issues in the chosen discipline area. Also to identify the range of research methods and design used and critically evaluate their application in research planning and development.

Course content

Students will investigate the range of research methodologies and designs in the social sciences, research paradigms/frameworks, research project management, planning and development. Students will explore the methodological knowledge and skills introduced in this course to generate and analyse both qualitative and quantitative research data and also be mindful of the ethical and cultural considerations involved in creatively focussed research.
