Course aim

Students will be mentored to develop their small business management skills, entrepreneurial knowledge and build self-employment practices specifically relevant to the Creative Industries sector.     

Course content

Students will develop and draw upon their knowledge and skills of business management, business information systems, financial management including taxation, strategic planning, intellectual property, copyright, moral rights and trademarks as relevant to their discipline fields.

Students will develop knowledge and skills for navigating the art and design policy and funding environment including grant sourcing and applications, relevant industry associations for artists and designers, communication skills and strategies and collaborative and community art and design practice. Students will further develop their progressive program portfolio in this core course.
