Develop advanced skills and knowledge required for vascular sonography.
Anatomy of the peripheral vascular system including the internal and external cranial and abdominal vascular tree; knowledge of advanced vascular ultrasound techniques and non-imaging tests that complement vascular laboratory requirements; surgical mapping and implications for follow-up investigations; vascular ultrasound of organ transplants; the use of ultrasound in partnership with other diagnostic imaging modalities.

Students need to meet the requirements of one of the following prerequisites: IMSO General stream prerequisite - Students must be an Accredited Medical Sonographer or equivalent IGSO/IMSO Vascular stream students - See courses listed IGSO/IMSO (Vascular) students must be in a Vascular Sonography training position. Placement details are to be evidenced and confirmed prior to census date.
IGSO/IMSO (Vascular) students must complete at least 200 vascular ultrasound examinations per study period. IMSO (General) students must be engaged in ultrasound procedures for a minimum of 200 hours.
