Course aim

Students will develop intermediate 3D and modelling skills while undertaking production projects that emulate the processes of a professional production schedule. Through lectures, class assignments and weekly projects, each topic within the course will be explored as it applies to the production process.

Course content

Students will be introduced to the basic tools and techniques within Autodesk’s Maya software. Students will create complex models and take them through to texturing, similar to the ones used for broadcast, commercial, film, industrial design and architectural visualization. A concentration on dimensional space, proportions, reference collection, and basics of surfacing is the main goal of the course. Students will be expected to complete a 10 second turntable of their final model, which will serve as the final project.
