This advanced level course provides students with the opportunity to participate in an industry based capstone experience. The course aims to enhance students’ professional competencies, business consulting and career readiness skills.
Students will be placed in either one of two streams:
Stream 1: Students will work in small teams to solve a real world employer based problem or project.
Stream 2: Students will undertake an industry internship.
The course will provide a pre-placement/project orientation incorporating but not limited to professional conduct, ethical responsibilities, student and employer responsibilities, and occupational health and safety practice, supervision and a report by a workplace mentor.
Students will be required to keep a reflective journal detailing their experiences, reflecting on both personally and professionally which will be explored during a debriefing seminar following the placement/project.
