Course aim

To apply instructional practices guided by Prophetic principles, models and pedagogies synthesised with contemporary pedagogical approaches for quality teaching and learning and as tools to develop as reflective practioners.

Course content

Students will develop their knowledge of educational theories and perspectives as they inform instructional practices. Students will analyse understandings of the learning process in Islamic education and what implications this has on learning partnerships for parents, teachers and students including management of learning environments and learner behaviour. Students will apply instructional practices drawn from Prophetic principles, models and pedagogies synthesised with contemporary pedagogical approaches for quality teaching and learning for alignment of assessment, curriculum and pedagogy in classroom settings. Students will develop a depth of knowledge and engagement with rubrics and frameworks in relation to quality teaching synthesising the Prophetic Standard, the Australian Professional Standards for Teaching and recognised International standards for teaching in order to develop as reflective practitioners.
