Preservice teachers will develop and apply their professional knowledge, implement professional practice and enact professional engagement as emerging graduate teachers in the relevant education setting.
Preservice teachers will investigate the nature of teachers’ work including evidence-based teaching and learning practice. Preservice teachers will develop positive, effective classroom environments appraising the importance of collaboration, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation in this process. Preservice teachers will evaluate the centrality of teacher-student relationships in influencing learning and for building connections with parents/caregivers. The preservice teacher will explore and negotiate the complexity of the supervisor relationship, they will plan learning experiences for students in various class configurations and apply appropriate curriculum documentation. Preservice teachers will develop assessment strategies with an emphasis on prior knowledge, formative assessment and timely feedback and strategies for reflective and reflexive practice.

Master of Teaching (Primary) students must have completed the first four courses in the program sequence: EDUC 5259 English Education Junior Primary; EDUC 5289 Mathematics and Science Education 1; EDUC 5251 Curriculum and Pedagogy 1 (HASS and Technologies); and EDUC 5252 Curriculum and Pedagogy (Art and HPE). Master of Teaching (Secondary) students must have completed the first three courses in the program sequence: Major Learning Area 1; Minor Learning Area 1; and EDUC 5269 Middle years of schooling.
Completion of UniSA Literacy & Numeracy Self-Evaluation & an approved RRHAN course completed whilst enrolled in ITE program. RRHAN training must be completed prior to field placement.
