To develop an understanding of advanced concepts in the pathogenesis of infectious diseases and immune pathologies, the host immune response and the emerging area of immune therapeutics.
Host-parasite interactions, bacterial virulence, bacterial toxins, protein secretion systems, bacterial communication and communities, antibiotics and antibiotic resistance, viral structure, life cycles and pathogenesis, host responses to microbial infection, inflammation, autoimmunity and immune deficiencies, immunotherapy and vaccinology. Critical analysis, interpretation and communication of relevant scientific literature.
