Building Academic Success (OC)
The aim of this course is to provide additional targeted academic support to students to assist them to successfully transition to tertiary study. Classes will discuss concepts around specific disciplines studied at UniSA as well as provide targeted support in developing appropriate skills required for different assessment methods.
Students will meet with academic staff to discuss the concepts and ideas they encounter in their studies. Assistance will be given in understanding concepts and developing appropriate skills for academic success. Students will meet each week to discuss topics and explore issues raised in their courses. In addition, targeted workshops around assessments will allow students to work with the academic staff members to build strengths in different assessment methods. Student wellbeing will also be discussed with strategies to assist in time management, managing stress and building self-efficacy.
