To provide students with knowledge of the pathophysiology of selected organ systems and the mechanisms of action of therapeutic agents used to treat disorders of these systems.
The underlying physiology of brain circuits, CNS neurotransmitters and receptors. The pharmacology of drugs relevant to: metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids; cardiovascular diseases; endocrine disorders; gastrointestinal disorders; neurological and psychiatric disorders.
