Course aim

To develop students' skills in the design and administration of methods of social research and evaluation that inform current and emerging communication practice.

Course content

Building experience gained in introductory courses, students will develop knowledge of the use and application of communication research methods in both professional practice and critique of  research in practice.  Students will reflect on the construction and deployment of a range of research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, and also undertake detailed evaluation, assessment and use of the data produced by these methods. They will investigate the contemporary use and value placed on the use of research and data, and the associated ethical, legal and administrative issues.
