Course aim

To advance students' investigative skills to authenticate and contextualise information from a number of disparate sources.

Course content

Students learn and practise sophisticated reporting techniques designed to build on and advance journalistic practices. This includes complex abilities to seek appropriate information and interpret it from hybrid contexts including data in mass and electronic formats. This course will also bring together research methods in journalism scholarship as well as journalism practices required in depth reporting as valid academic research per se. This course consolidates students' theoretical knowledge and skills in journalism and professional writing, and integrates these skills with their research skills.
