Students will develop competencies in designing rigorous quantitative research to inform nursing and health care knowledge, practice, and policy.
Quantitative research process and problem/hypothesis selection in nursing research; critical appraisal tools for evaluating methodological quality of quantitative research designs; quantitative research standards; descriptive study designs; experimental study designs (randomised controlled trials, clinical trials); quasi-experimental study designs; internal and external validity; descriptive statistics; inferential statistics; quantitative data analysis software; implication of quantitative research for evidence based nursing practice.
