Course aim

To provide students with an in-country immersion experience by studying at an approved tertiary institution specialising in the teaching and learning of the Italian language to persons from a non-Italian speaking background.

Course content

The course will be studied in-country (in a country that is appropriate for the target language). The course will be taught and assessed in the target language of Italian.

Vocabulary and language structures related to the range of texts, themes and topics covered; grammatical concepts with a focus on language in use; sociocultural knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks covered in the language classes; a range of text types appropriate to individual students’ language proficiency level, including a selection of works by contemporary writers and film makers; intercultural aspects of contemporary culture and society relevant to the readings, screenings and projects.
