To introduce critical perspectives on the theory and practice of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment across diverse learning settings.
Definitions and understandings of curriculum and assessment; the ideological bases for curriculum policy and decision making; stakeholders in the curriculum; contemporary issues in assessment and reporting, principles and practices of effective assessment, theories and practices that drive formation of curriculum; the messages implied by pedagogical choices, the role of assessment in shaping the curriculum; understanding the role of educators in curriculum and assessment practice inside contemporary education settings.
