Course aim

  • Model and control multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) systems
  • Select and design appropriate analog and digital controllers in both classical and modern (state-space) representations of systems to meet defined criteria
  • Apply automatic tuning algorithms to control systems

Course content

Modelling and control of single input, single output (SISO) and multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) systems. Intelligent controllers including: expert systems, fuzzy logic and neural networks. Automatic tuning methods for control systems. Practical implementation considerations and limitations of control systems.
