The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamentals of vibrations, control and acoustics. It will develop skills in how to model and analyse single and multi-degree of freedom rectilinear and rotary systems, for free, forced and damped vibrations. Then, the knowledge will be extrapolated to vibration analysis of continuous systems and application of vibration analysis to automatic control systems and an introduction to acoustics.
Introduction to mechanical vibrations and its significance, free and forced vibration analysis of single degree-of-freedom rectilinear systems: undamped and damped, free and forced vibration analysis of multi degree-of-freedom rotary systems: undamped and damped, vibration analysis of continuous systems, application of vibration analysis to automatic control systems and introduction to acoustics.
