Course aim

To enable students to conduct and appraise the value of action-research while positioning this contemporary esearch method within the wider continuum of traditional scientific or social-based investigations - detecting the nature of inquiry and relating action research to the contextual needs of educational practitioners.

Course content

Students will examine the fundamental purposes of research, review key approaches used in research-based inquiries, appraise philosophical paradigms within given research methodologies,  reflect on diverse types of research study, critique research outcomes and discover the contribution of action research as one contemporary method for educators.
