The aim of this course is to provide students with broad knowledge and understanding of the workings of the (international) construction industry, and how the role of a Building Surveyor fits into this.
The students on this course will typically gain knowledge and understanding in the following subjects: the supporting and enclosing of domestic and commercial buildings; operations of building surveying companies; building elements and their sequencing; elementary building services; building regulation and codes; roles and organisation of the industry’s professions and business entities; the roles of authorities, regulatory and advisory bodies; introduction to building estimating, tendering and project procurement.
