To critically explore how teachers can use interaction to facilitate learning, foster target language use, facilitate dialogue about language and learning, and monitor and assess language in the classroom.
The students will reflect critically on the concept of intercultural language learning, and the interaction of language and culture in language learning and use. They will investigate the nature of teacher – learner interaction and the impact of learner background on language learning and use, and critique textbooks from an intercultural and interactionist perspective.
