Course aim

To engage students in curricula, pedagogical and administrative debates on the trajectories and issues related to links between education, work and schools.

Course content

Students will understand the overview of history and trajectories of work-related education, identification and clarification of key terminology, identification of key ‘stakeholders’ and client groups. Students will engage in  Australian approaches to vocational learning, identification and examination of relevant policy statements and curriculum documents, implications for design, implementation, resourcing and staffing vocationally oriented school based programs. Students will study issues relating to pedagogies and professional development, investigating Vocational Education and Training (VET) in schools and future trends in Australia and internationally.
