Course aim

To engage critically with arts education issues and literature through negotiated research topics and develop skills in academic research and writing.

Course content

Theories and policies relevant to the teaching of arts in national and international contexts; currents arts education discourse; arts based research methodologies; deconstructions of arts education histories; theories of contemporary art learning, ideas and methodologies; written and oral critiques of arts education constructs; discourse through formal writing and oral presentation of research findings.
