Course aim

To engage students with theoretical perspectives and teaching and learning strategies for reading and writing conventional, multimodal and literary texts.

Course content

Socio-cultural model of language and literacy; reading, designing and producing multimodal texts; verbal and visual grammar: linguistic functional grammar; creating cohesive texts; roles and practices in reading and writing conventional, multimodal and literary texts; development in reading and writing; visual and digital literacies; planning, pedagogy, resourcing and assessment of student learning.
