Course aim

To provide a critical overview of the range of systems methodologies that are available to support the analysis and design of information systems, and to equip students with the conceptual understanding required to critically select and use analysis and design methodologies. 

Course content

The business context for information system.  Development life-cycle models.  Systems analysis methodologies.  Data modelling.  System design methods.  Modelling notations, including UML.
