Course aim

To have students design, construct, demonstrate and evaluate an autonomous mobile robotic system capable of performing a number of predefined tasks.

Course content

  • Design of a mobile autonomous mechatronic system to perform a number of tasks that are not rigidly defined before the testing;
  • Review of mechatronic concepts: System design techniques, system integration, control systems, machine vision, microcontroller programming;
  • Robotic navigation: path planning, collision avoidance, mapping and localisation.
