Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with an innovative in situ approach to learning that incorporates “real world” experiential learning that develops students' understanding of the relationship between society, business, government and the not-for-profit sector. It also aims to enable students to identify a range of professional capabilities necessary for participation in a sustainable society.

Course content

This course will be conducted intensively as a field based course in a host country, supported by a pre-departure seminar and a return debriefing. The course will provide an opportunity for students to gain a first-hand perspective on the issues and challenges faced by firms and professionals operating in a global business environment. Key areas of coverage include: historical and socio-cultural influences on business, regulatory and legal considerations, trade related matters, ethical action and sustainability as well as strategic business issues. Students will participate in an interactive seminar prior to departure to ensure appropriate cultural preparation, and attend a de-briefing seminar upon their return to Australia.

NOTE: Additional fees apply for the study tour component of this course.
