To consolidate students’ spoken and written communication in English at an advanced level, with an emphasis on International or World literature/s in English
Students will consolidate and deepen their expertise in academic English in the context of the historical, socio-political and cultural traditions of world literature/s. Students will examine the influences of other languages and of other literary traditions as these have enriched the development of literature/s in English. Students explore the influence of World Englishes in relation to languages, literatures and film in their own countries/regions. Emphasis will be placed on independent research, review, analysis, interpretation and the application of linguistic and literary theory and insight into the other disciplinary/career-path interests of students.
