Course aim

To provide students with research and analytical tools to critically review Indigenous Australian approaches to the environment, the law, land and resource management.

Course content

Defining environment and wilderness; Systems of knowledge; The archaeological record; Caring for country; The Dreaming; Resource management; Land rights, Native Title and Wik; Mining and pastoralism; Heritage and Protection; Relationships between environmental stakeholders; Ecotourism and cultural tourism; Ethics and intellectual property.
