Foundations of Health

Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Health Professionals with particular reference to the consumer's position and perspective.

Course content

World Health Organisation (WHO) categories of impairment, activity and participation, related to social complexities of health and the consumers position and perspective in health care, the Australian health system, the roles of professions in health care, principles of OH&S, academic and professional writing, working and communicating within teams, reasoning in the health setting.
