Course aim

To extend and consolidate students’ views of multimodal literacies across the early childhood curriculum.

Course content

Includes all curriculum areas: literacy, numeracy, the arts, health and physical education, science and technology, society and the environment. Students will develop a site-based-project where contemporary literacies will be used to represent meaning in new and innovative multimodal ways. Topics will include: multiliteracies and learning; book-to-performance; video production in educational settings; roles taken planning and production; ethical and critical issues related to use of digital resources; assessment of the effectiveness of children’s digital learning while participating and creating texts within the digital environment.
