Course aim

To enable students to apply communication theory and literature on key issues to organisational practices.

Course content

Organisation communication theories and organisational culture, implications of diversity for communication (for example; gender, age, culture, disability, spirituality, inter-cultural and international contexts), negotiation and conflict resolution from a communication perspective (strategies, perception, emotion, ethics, relationships, culture), managing emotions in organisational communication (E.g.; Grief, loss, problem solving, decision making, conflict, responding to change, managing personal emotions), communication for practical contexts.
