Course aim

The course will serve as a foundation for event studies. This course aims to provide an understanding of the event industry, and to identify the theoretical underpinnings of event management.

 

Course content

This course is an introduction to the event industry. It specifically explores the sectors and relationships within the industry; event characteristics; social and economic impacts; event strategic plan including financial management, human resources management, marketing plan, event sponsorship and IMC, event tourism plan; event operations and evaluation; and legal and risk management.
