Course aim

This course encourages critical analysis of environmental security and social movements for justice and the environment, particularly in the global South.

Course content

The global South; social movements; environment movements; justice movements; tensions between activists in the North and South; environmental security; role of political regimes, international financial institutions and transnational corporations in environmental politics in the South; case studies from the South with a focus on Asia.
