Course aim

To integrate and apply knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, professional practice and research methodology acquired throughout the program. This is to be in a professional practice setting under supervision and mentoring to encourage further advancement of skills development in a practice setting.

Course content

Students undertake an experiential placement and a research project in a pharmacy practice setting in a variety of locations including metropolitan, rural or overseas. The Placement and research project may take place in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, a specialised drug information service, an aged care facility, or in another health setting, with provision of services including primary health care; medication provision; medication review; various models of medication management and drug optimisation; clinical pharmacy services; specialised drug information services; collection, analysis, evaluation and reporting of data.
