Course aim

To reflect on the Professional Placement experience and to further develop advanced communication, technical and cognitive skills necessary to analyse, evaluate, integrate and transform pharmacotherapeutic and professional practice knowledge in the provision of best pharmacy practice. In addition, to further develop understanding of complex practice models and the autonomy, well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility required of pharmacists in health promotion and management of chronic disease advance.

Course content

Further development, integration and application of: professional standards of pharmacy practice in practice situations; legal and ethical frameworks of professional practice; the role-specific skills required for contemporary professional pharmacy practice including: primary health care, medication provision and review in community pharmacy; medication management and drug optimisation; clinical pharmacy services; emerging practice models; chronic disease management; understanding of continuous quality improvement.
