To provide students with an understanding of contemporary pharmacotherapeutics with regards to disease management, selection and optimisation of medicines.
The syllabus involves the development of knowledge in the science of drug treatment of human disease, pharmacotherapeutics, in the following health discipline areas: neurology and psychiatry; haematology and oncology; reproductive medicine; addiction disorders; gastroenterology; ophthalmology. For each of these discipline areas, specific conditions managed with pharmacotherapeutic modalities will be addressed.
