Course aim

To provide a sound understanding of the basis behind the formulation of solid dosage forms, including controlled-release forms, their fate once administered, and controls over their manufacture and quality; dermatological products and percutaneous absorption; and drug and product stability and the importance of shelf-life and storage.

Course content

Solid dosage forms, properties of solid drugs and excipients, micromeritics and quality control; tablets, capsules, suppositories and pessaries; principles of controlled-release dosage forms; packaging and labelling of dosage forms; pharmaceutical calculations.
