To extend students’ spoken and written communication and critical literacy skills at the post-intermediate level with reference to authentic materials and intercultural aspects integral to the language contexts covered.
Specialised vocabulary related to a range of themes and contexts (describing professions; describing activities: present and past; specifying frequency of activities; describing fields of study; describing professions and positions; describing famous personalities; describing places, objects and people; describing parts of the house and house fixtures, objects, body parts of people and animals; describing family members, relatives, occupations, and fields of specialisation; expressing reason and purpose); consolidation of grammatical concepts and structures (the feminine sound plural; relative pronouns; the nominal sentence; the particle Inna and its sisters; the passive voice; the imperative; multiple Idafa; negating future time with Lan; conjugating hollow verbs; descriptive Idafa; demonstrative nouns, etc) with focus on the grammar of use; intercultural knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks in the language texts.
Please note that this course is available to UniSA students only. It is not available to students of other Universities wishing to study cross-institutionally.
Students must enrol concurrently in the equivalent Deakin University online course AIB351 Arabic 3A via cross-institutional enrolment. On successful completion of the Deakin University course students must apply for credit at UniSA.
