To prepare students for employment in architectural practices under moderate supervision leading to registration as an architect according to State or Territory legislation.
Students will gain knowledge in the processes involved in registering as an Architect through liaison with registration authorities and professional organisations, and be familiar with RAIA advisory notes, guide letters and proforma including attending the RAIA employment seminar. Students will develop skills in preparing a resume and portfolio and responding to an Expression of Interest (EOI). Students will also have an introduction to the Australian legal system, law of contract and tort, types of building contracts and become familiar with alternate means of dispute resolution.
