To examine cooperative and coercive approaches to global and human security, and the global politics of major contemporary security and ecological sustainability issues.
Global, national and human security; international relations theories, strategic history, strategic analysis and intelligence; major conflicts; changing global polarity; nuclear deterrence, proliferation and missile defence; interdependence and constructing cooperative security; terrorism; practical human security issues, including natural disasters; the global politics of energy security and ecological sustainability.
