To introduce students to the study of the Earth using a systems approach and to examine the interaction between the solid Earth, the atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere.
Introduction to Earth Systems; plate tectonics and the rock cycle, earth resources and their sustainability; hydrosphere, the water cycle, oceans, lakes and rivers; atmosphere, composition, circulation, weather patterns, climate and climatic change; biosphere, evolution of life and the interaction between biosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere.
