Course aim

To provide an introduction to the key knowledge and skills involved with the strategic management of human resources

Course content

Content and nature of strategic Human Resource management. Introduction to management of strategy. Introduction to labour management strategy and HRM. Best practice, contingency and configurational approaches; life-cycle, industrial organisation and resource-based approaches. Issues about strategic fit. Evaluation and measurement of HRM. Undertaking HRM audits. Factors influencing adoption of strategic HRM.
