Course aim

To develop an understanding of the pedagogical benefits of and new opportunities for contemporary information technologies in mathematics and sciences learning in the context of international issues in mathematics and sciences education.

Course content

Computer algebra systems, numerical and computational technologies; cognitive aspects of mathematics learning; contemporary mathematical and applied sciences teaching; zone of proximal development; computer based scaffolding and its application in mathematics and applied science teaching: case studies; discovery learning in mathematics and science; web based mathematics and the task-object model; individual differences and differential uses of computational supports.
