Course aim

To introduce students to the history, trajectories and issues related to links between education work and schools.

Course content

Overview of history and trajectories of work-related education; identification and clarification of key terminology; identification of key ‘stakeholders’ and client groups; Australian approaches to vocational learning; identification and examination of relevant policy statements & curriculum documents; implications for design, implementation, resourcing and staffing vocationally oriented school based programs; issues relating to pedagogies and professional development; investigating VET in schools, future trends in Australia and internationally.
