To provide students with an understanding of environmental sustainability concepts and practices and the integration of these practices to the design, construction and maintenance of assets and infrastructure.
Asset sustainability and environmental concepts, sustainability philosophies, assessment against environmental and sustainability benchmarks, identification of sustainability performance indicators. Integration of design and construction techniques into the sustainability framework, sustainable communities, life cost planning and analysis. Energy, water and other resource consumption. Technical fixes, durability issues, maintenance management, risk analysis, special cases and legislation.
