This course provides knowledge of business operation in the international arena, and addresses factors that drive international business engagement in the era of emerging market dominance across trade and foreign investment. The course examines current debates, theories and practices in the field of international business, and provides students with strategic skills to analyse and apply micro and macro aspects of global business to organisational management, recognising the difficulties in the post-global financial recession.
Topics covered in this course are:
Globalisation and International Business; Ethics issues in managing international operations; Cultural competency, cross-cultural communication and International Business negotiations; The International Business environment; International Trade and Investment theories; Assessing International Business opportunities and risks; Internationalisation of business; Bilateral, Regional and Multilateral Trading Agreements; Managing International Business strategy and structure; People issues in international business.
